The Euro 7 Emission Regulation (EU) 2024/1257 was officially released on May 8, 2024.

Regulation (EU) 2024/1257 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 April 2024 on type-approval of motor vehicles and engines and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles, with respect to their emissions and battery durability (Euro 7), amending Regulation (EU) 2018/858 of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Regulations (EC) No 715/2007 and (EC) No 595/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, Commission Regulation (EU) No 582/2011, Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1151, Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/2400 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1362.


This regulation shall come into effect on the twentieth day after its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (Frontline note: May 28, 2024).

Starting from November 29, 2026, applicable to new types of vehicles of M1 and N1 categories, as well as components, systems, and independent technical units approved in accordance with this Regulation for M1 or N1 category vehicles; Starting from November 28, 2027, it will be applied to new vehicles of M1 and N1 categories and their components, systems, and independent technical units.

Starting from May 29, 2028, it shall apply to new types of vehicles in categories M2, M3, N2, N3, O3, and O4, as well as components, systems, and independent technical units approved under this Regulation for M2, M3, N2, N3, O3 or O4 vehicles. Starting from May 28, 2029, it shall apply to new vehicles in categories M2, M3, N2, N3, O3, and O4, as well as the components, systems, and independent technical units of these vehicles.

Starting from July 1, 2028, it will be applicable to new C1 class tires, starting from April 1, 2030, it will be applicable to new C2 class tires, and starting from April 1, 2032, it will be applicable to new C3 class tires.

Starting from July 1, 2030, applicable to M1 and N1 category vehicles manufactured by small-scale manufacturers, and starting from July 1, 2031, applicable to M2, M3, N2, and N3 category vehicles manufactured by small-scale manufacturers.
